A view of Denali from the highway above the Chulitna River beautifully exposed the reflected light and colors near the base of the mountain. It just seemed like color was poured into the white snow dancing and splashing around. The wonderful thing about being an artist is that we see these things and are grateful to share them. The process begins with a light sketch for placement and then blocking in color and value. After that, I add variety of temperatures within value ranges to create interest and life.
