painted using mostly Unison pastels, Terry Ludwigs and a small selection of pastel pencils. I love painting animals and as much as I love portrait commissions, I absolutely love the chance to depict them in more natural surroundings wherever i can. I work in very fine layers and love to add vibrancy and colour wherever I can. what drew me to this painting idea was the concentration and determination in the cats eyes and the long, lush grass. Rendering the grass took a lot of patience but was tons of fun to play with so many shades of green, dancing them in and out of each other to give the illusion of the chaos of nature and depth.
