My aim was to create an energetic painting using bold colours and marks that captured the beauty and shapes of these blooms. This still life was made up of pieces I collected from the garden and a purchased king blush protea and was set up in my studio. Mixed soft pastels were applied over a hot pink underpainting on Uart 400.
