I painted this one week after my Father’s Memorial Service. I was looking through my photos and thinking about Dad and came across my photo of Japanese Tulips and just picked up 6”x8” dark UArt 400 grit and taped to board. I did no drawing except to put in lines for the branch placements, and then just started making marks of the colour shapes I saw. The sky and surrounding air was last thing I put in. I think all my love for my Dad came through in this. I didn’t study and think on it, I just did it. Took less than 30 minutes. ©?
