I used nupastels to draw out the forms and provide the tonal values for the underpainting wash, followed through with a combination of Terry Ludwigs, Mount Vision, Sennelier, and Unisons keeping the details soft for the tourists in the background to give focus to the subject. I took the reference photograph for this painting on a trip to Croatia.
