In this artwork I used many different mediums such as pan pastel, gold flakes, multimedia paper and Bristol board. In this artwork I wanted to depict a modernized representation of the veiled virgin originally sculpted by Giovanni Strazza. The colors I chose were comforting and familiar to my summers I would spend in Colombia with my grandparents as a child. The gold flake halo was included to represent this madonnas eternity and grace. I will be using this same technique for my upcoming portrait work.
