I painted this in soft pastels on an 11 X 14 UART 400-grit panel as a composite image based on a group of my own photographs. I took the photos of this stunning sunset behind our property this winter. The setting sun rays were shadowed by low cumulus clouds, a beautiful phenomenon called crepuscular rays. My first layer on the UART 400 panel was a watercolor under-painting.
