I painted this portrait in pastels of this beggar woman in Peru receiving a newly translated Bible in her native Quechan language. A friend took the original reference photo which I used as my inspiration. I just loved the expressive face of this woman and her colorful clothing. I gifted the painting to the missionaries to commemorate their life's work of translating the Bible into the Quechan language.
