The Blue Air is based on a view out of the car window on a trip back from the Adirondacks. The photo was grainy and the day was grey which was perfect for leaving the rest to my imagination. It is painted with a variety of soft pastels both as the underpainting and subsequent top layers. It captures the mood of the landscape that turned my head that late October day.
