This pastel was done from sittings with this woman who was living in a shelter with her children. I organized a project called SEE ME to paint 20+ portraits of women with children living in a shelter
we selected. The women volunteered to spend at least 3 hours with us. "We" are three women, two artists and a videographer, who played "dress up" with each woman, her choices of fabric, jewelry, make-up. THen we sketched and photographed man y poses while the entire process was filmed, including a session for each woman to tell her story. Exhibition will take place in the summer of 2022.
