I am always amazed at what nature brings forth in terms of colors and shapes! And I love to arrange them, photograph and paint. Currants have become a particular favorite. I particularly like their small dark red bodies, almost penetrated by the light. That's why they are also the "star" of this painting, even if it doesn't seem like it at first glance. I used soft pastels and pastel pencils on Lennox100 and blended a lot with my fingers. This image is stabilized with a pastel fixative and can be shown without a frame.
